Ministry Opportunities

Ø GO Outreach

There are two outreach teams—G Team and O Team. The G Team meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month, and the O Team meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 pm.

Ø Jackson Purchase Medical Center

There are two groups who are involved in this ministry. The AM group offers light refreshments to the families of those who are having outpatient treatment at JPMC Monday-Thursday from 7:30-11:30 am. The PM group ministers nightly to those families who may have to stay overnight with a loved one by providing a snack sack filled with various items.

Ø Furniture Ministry

This ministry accepts used furniture which has been donated, and makes it available free of charge to those in our community who are in need. Volunteers pick up the donated items as well as delivering the needed items.

Ø Kid’s Korner

Boxes of toys are placed in various offices in the Mayfield area, which allow children to be entertained while their parents are busy taking care of their personal business within the office. Special marked boxes are located in the Children’s Building for donations to this ministry.

Ø Friends ‘N Stitches

This ministry focuses on ministering to others through various craft projects. The current project is crib quilts for newborns of our members.  This group meets every Tuesday  from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Ø FBC Builders

This ministry focuses on ministering to others in our community by volunteering their time to make minor electrical, carpentry, and other household maintenance to help those in need.

Prayer Ministry

Ø Shield-A-Badge with Prayer

This is an opportunity for members to practice intercessory prayer for members of the local law enforcement agencies—police, sheriff, and fire departments, KY state police, etc. Members commit to pray for particular employees for a year.

Ø Men’s Prayer

A group of men meet each Tuesday at 7:00 am in the prayer room for prayer.

Ø Prayer Chain

There are five groups who respond to emergency or daily prayer requests. Requests are made through the church office on weekdays, 8 am - 4:30 pm. After hour and weekend requests are directed to specific individuals who will begin the prayer chain.

Ø Prayer Warriors

The purpose of this ministry is to under gird and lift up the ministries of our church and specific needs and concerns of our members. Specific prayer requests are made by members filling out prayer request cards and dropping the cards in prayer boxes that are centrally located throughout our facilities. The prayer warriors are committed to an hour of prayer each week, praying over the requests including the ministries and other needs of our church. The prayer warriors also have a rotating schedule, which enables one of them to be in the prayer room during each of the Sunday morning and evening worship services, praying specifically for that particular service.
