ACQUIRING OUR HEAVENLY HOME

Hebrews 11:13-16

HOW DO WE GET FROM EARTH TO HEAVEN?

I. We must be saved!

A. Some are confused about the way to heaven. (Matthew 7:21-23)

B. More people will miss heaven than acquire it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

C. The only way to heaven is Jesus! (John 14:6; John 3:16-17; Acts 4:12)

II. We must pass through the “valley of death.”

A. God will be with us in death as He is in life. (Psalm 23:4)

B. A believer’s death is precious to God. (Psalm 116:15)

C. We will be given an escort. (Luke 16:22)

III. Our first destination is Paradise.

A. There are three heavens mentioned in Scripture.

1. Earth’s atmosphere

2. Planets & galaxies beyond earth

3. Eternal destination

B. Paradise is in the third eternal heaven. (2 Corinthians 12:2, 4)

C. PARADISE IS MORE ABOUT THE PERSON THAN THE PLACE! (2 Corinthians 5:8; Luke 23:43)

D. We will be clothed and enjoy the pleasures of God. (2 Corinthians 5:1-3; Psalm 16:11)

E. Paradise is a precursor to Heaven!!
